Hightech multistoried buildings tell of the hidden wealth of west Australia: Gold, iron ore, diamonds and other mineral resources made Perth to the city of the millionaires. When the astronaut John Glenn the globe circled 1962, Perth with a bright gesture greeted it: All inhabitants turned at the same time their lights on. As only light spot the city in the universe sparkled. Deeply affected, the astronaut baptized Perth as town center OF Light, until today carries her proudly for this names.
